IATP helps Business students in professional development
On March 27, at the IATP access site in Ganja, Azerbaijan FSA/Undergraduate 2000-2001 alumna Fariz Ahmadov conducted a two-hour seminar on “The Internet and E-Business”. Eight participants, including two alumni and six business students were attended at the classes. The event was arranged by IATP’s Ganja site
administrator Sara Humbatova at the Ganja Education Information Center (GEIC). The main goal of the seminar was to introduce new tools of business students, most useful web-sites to study e-commerce, and to increase awareness of students about
e-business and e-marketing. During the seminar the on-line introduced to the participants some useful web-sites such as www.sba.gov; www.bplans.com; www.hjventures.com; www.mplans.com; www.websitemarketingplan.com; www.entrepreneur.com; www.internetmarketinglips.com; www.paloalto.com; www.knowthis.com and a few azeri web-sites www.anadolu.az; www.azercell.com ; www.sabina.az; www.icd-azd.com. Students also learned real examples and application of e-business and e-commerce in Azerbaijan. However, as the basic handouts for the seminar participants were given the copies of two materials that have been derived from the chapters of the American college textbooks on business such as navigating the worked of E-Business and using Technology for Customer Relationship in a Global Environment. The seminar was held in English and all materials that were given to the participants were in English, too. There will be another seminar for business students as a follow-up in April. Pari Ismayilova FSA/Undergraduate 2001-2002 who works in a foreign company (FINCA) on Business sphere, mentioned, “I would like to appreciated the IATP stuff and the lecture for arranging us such useful and effective seminar that will help us in our professional development. I hope, that the seminar on e-business will not be the last one and it’ll be continuum in the future. There is a lot of business students who needs get to know benefits and characteristics of e-business and e-commerce by using of Internet resources.”

From March 6 to 27, IATP site administrator Sara Humbatova and part-time assistant Ruzigar Hasanov at Ganja Education Information Center conducted a mobile training for 13 teachers of informatics from various secondary schools in Agstafa. The training was initiated together with CI 1996 alumnus Hasan Huseynov and head of the Akstafa Department of the Ministry of Education, who assisted in the involvement of teachers from the schools and arranging premises for conducting trainings.
