Alumna at the IATP Ganja Site Holds Seminar on International Business
On April 16, at the IATP access site in Ganja, FSA Undergraduate 2000-2001 alumna Fariz Ahmadov conducted a two-hour seminar on International Business: “Global Trends and Challenges”. Nine participants, including two alumni, volunteers from IFES center, business students, the works of a foreign company (FINCA) on Business sphere, the representace of local NGOs and IATP’s site visitors attended the classes. The main goal of the seminar was to give participants a sense of the trends and challenges facing international business in the 21st century. The seminar was also sketch out how firms should approach international competition as well as providing a snapshot of the major players in the global economy. The seminar described the growth of international business and profile the role countries and regions around the world are playing in that growth. In addition, the served as a follow-up for the previous seminar on E-Business. The outcomes of the seminar was that the participants learned about the recent changes in international markets and about opportunities of marketing and exporting national products and services in the international management should guard against risks and dangers. They also learned new useful web-sites about international businesses, management, and marketing such as www.abtc.az, www.auditbalance.com, www.gateway.az,
www.sahibkar.biz, www.etown.edu, www.iccwbo.org, www.internationalist.com, www.isbc.com, www.bspage.com, www.ibf.com. However, as the basic handouts for the seminar participants were given the copies of a material, which derived from the chapter of American college textbooks on international business such as an Overview of Global and Regional Trends and Challenges. The seminar was held in English and materials that were given to the participants were in English, too. During tea break the participants made discussion on different issues of International Business, Global Trends and Challenges. (The event was arranged by IATP’s Ganja site administrator Sara Humbatova at the Ganja Education Center (GEIC)). At the end of the seminar Ilham Huseynov business and marketing trainer of the local NGO center noted: “I’d like to appreciated the trainer and IATP stuff for providing us so useful and effective seminar, which had a big role in helping us our professional development.”
